Welcome to Cortextual
Our business foundation is built on four pillars: Knowledge, Innovation, Design and Sustainability.
Knowledge can be defined as an awareness or understanding of the world and its components. Knowledge is acquired through experience or education by perceiving, exploring, learning or engaging. Knowledge can be theoretical or practical. It can be implicit or explicit. We seek knowledge as it empowers us to master our challenges and deliver value.
Innovation is about finding a better way of doing something. Innovation can be viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements. Innovation is original and, hence, introduces something new and exciting. It is a process that challenges the status quo and offers alternative solutions. We seek innovation, as it is the solution to every new challenge.
Design thinking combines empathy, creativity and rationality to deliver a solution to a problem context. According to Tim Brown, CEO and president of IDEO, the goal of Design Thinking is "matching people’s needs with what is technologically feasible and viable as a business strategy". The way we approach problems and the methods we use to ideate, select and execute solutions, help us improve our own problem solving processes and take our innovation to a higher level. We seek design thinking because it is the foundation in delivering innovation.
Sustainability means maintaining, supporting and enduring. A sustainable development is "a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.” [UN, 1987]
We seek sustainability because it is the foundation of any long lasting successful system.
